iFit Review

nordictrack ifit

iFit is an app that works with NordicTrack treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. It includes destination workouts, trainer-led sessions, and SmartAdjust, which automatically adjusts your machine in real time.

For a while now iFit has been included free with new NordicTrack and Proform machines. But now iFit requires a subscription. The first year is free and the yearly fee is $14/month or $144/two years.

iFit’s interactive technology

The iFit app provides trainer-led virtual workouts that stream over the Internet to NordicTrack treadmills, rowers, stationary bikes, ellipticals, and strength machines. The service has a library of 16,000 on-demand classes that range from yoga and mental health to running, rowing, and HIIT cardio workouts. The company also specializes in patented interactive fitness technology, which allows trainers to control users’ equipment and live adjust their incline and speed instantly during class.

Many NordicTrack and ProForm exercise equipment models come with a free one-year iFit subscription, which CR has found to be worth the cost of membership. Unfortunately, starting in late 2022 and continuing into this year, a large number of users have experienced their machines’ touchscreen consoles going black or “bricked.”

The problem appears to be widespread, with reports from dozens of consumers across the country. iFit told us it is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime, customers should try to connect to their iFit machines using a separate device, such as a tablet or smart TV.

iFit’s global workouts

iFit offers on-demand classes, live events, and trainer-led workouts. These classes range from beginner to advanced and can be filtered by series, instructor, duration, intensity, indoor, outdoor, and more. There are more than 180 trainers and health professionals leading the workouts, which helps give each class a unique feel.

The global workouts allow you to train in exotic locations around the world, such as the Alps and the Amazon rainforest. These workouts can help you improve your endurance and increase the strength of your body. The workouts can also be filtered by difficulty level.

iFit is compatible with many NordicTrack products, including treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. You can also use it with other equipment such as Freemotion, Weider, and Matrix. You can even connect your iFit-compatible device to your machine to watch classes on the go. In addition, iFit’s training apps can control your machine in select workouts to provide more personalized experiences. The app’s fitness challenges can also keep you motivated and challenge your limits.

iFit’s on-demand workouts

iFit is a huge library of trainer-led workouts that can be used with NordicTrack equipment or any piece of fitness equipment with a built-in screen. It has a huge selection of classes including running, cycling, rowing and strength. It also has a large variety of destination trainer-led classes that take you all over the world and allow instructors to control your equipment.

Stream interactive studio and destination trainer-led sessions right to your treadmill, studio bike, commercial incline treadmill or elliptical. iFit’s app can automatically adjust your equipment’s speed, incline and resistance to seamlessly match the workout.

Unlike other connected fitness apps such as Peloton, iFit doesn’t just offer studio-classes. It also offers a range of bodyweight strength training routines and yoga classes and even has workouts designed to help with mental health. It is a great option for people who like to take coached classes but want to avoid the gym scene. The workouts are well-designed and include a wide variety of styles.

iFit’s trainer-led workouts

iFit’s trainer-led workouts provide motivation, education, and entertainment to help you reach your fitness goals. They also feature a wide variety of workouts that vary in intensity, including Pilates, strength training, and HIIT floor exercises. iFit’s trainer-led classes can be done on treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, and rowers.

Unlike competitors like Peloton, which offers apps that don’t connect to fitness equipment, iFit offers a monthly subscription that connects to NordicTrack and ProForm machines with built-in touchscreens. However, the service has been experiencing problems since late 2022 and early this year, with many users reporting that their treadmill or bike’s touchscreen consoles have suddenly become inoperable.

iFit’s patented interactive technology automatically adjusts the speed, incline, and resistance of your machine to match the studio workout or destination terrain you’re running through (SmartAdjust). This is available on all NordicTrack and ProForm treadmills and ellipticals, as well as some commercial Freemotion machines at gyms and health clubs. iFit also offers live races and events to kick your workout into high gear.
