NordicTrack Treadmill Review

nordictrack treadmill

NordicTrack treadmills are packed with cutting-edge features. They tend to have a more expensive price tag than other models and require more space in the home due to their size.

They have a huge 22-inch touch screen that allows you to take iFIT classes in HD clarity. Plus, the machine can also be tilted and pivoted. The deck has Runners Flex cushioning, which reduces impact on joints.

iFit Technology

iFit is a big trend in fitness that brings the gym to your home. Stream interactive studio and destination trainer-led sessions directly to your NordicTrack treadmill, rower, studio bike, or Fusion CST strength trainer.

With SmartAdjust, your machine learns and adjusts to you. This customization technology takes your previous workouts into account and automatically follows and scales the adjustments you make for a seamless experience.

iFIT isn’t just a fancy gimmick, it gets your heart racing and builds strength, endurance, and stamina. Whether you’re on a NordicTrack Commercial treadmill series or S22i studio cycle, a hike up a trail incline or sprinting down one will get your quads pumped and sweat flowing.

iFit is integrated into all new NordicTrack treadmills, and many older models are iFit Bluetooth ready (tablet access via an app). All current NordicTrack models except for the Commercial X32i come with a free year of iFit family membership. A free iFit membership is also available with all new ProForm HIIT trainers and treadmills.

Runner’s Flex Cushioning

Runner’s Flex cushioning is a nice feature for treadmills because it absorbs impact to help take the strain off your knees and back. This is a feature I haven’t seen on non-NordicTrack models.

NordicTrack is a division of Icon Health and Fitness and has been producing treadmills for many years. The brand is heavy on features and is quickly becoming known for its quality in the mid-price range.

The Commercial 1750 is a high-end treadmill that comes with a hefty 10-year warranty on the frame, two years on parts and one year on labor. It also offers automatic incline and decline adjustments based on the workout you select through iFit. Its large 14-inch smart touchscreen rotates and tilts so you can follow along with the iFit studio classes or scenic virtual runs. Its deck is 20 inches wide and 60 inches long, which is a good size for most runners. Its incline range goes up to 40% and it has a -3% decline setting.

Quiet Drive Incline Tech

This nordictrack treadmill features Quiet Drive Incline Technology engineered for performance and silence. It’s perfect for HIIT workouts and interval training and can burn up to 300 calories in just 20 minutes.

It also includes ActivePulse technology, which automatically adjusts speed and incline with your heart rate to stay in your target zone. This is a great feature for those with busy lifestyles because it takes some of the guesswork out of your workouts.

With a large 14-inch tilt & pivot HD touchscreen, this nordictrack treadmill provides an immersive running experience. It has a full suite of interactive programming including iFIT Coach with Google Maps, health tracking and 3rd-party compatible smart heart rate monitors to provide personalized programming. It has a -3% to 12% decline and incline capability that syncs with the elevations and dips of your iFIT-mapped landscape for an extra realistic run or jog. This treadmill is a bit on the pricey side with a list price of $2,500 but does come with financing options.

Easy Assembly

The assembly of a nordictrack treadmill can be quite difficult for anyone not familiar with DIY work. The good news is that each unit comes with excellent YouTube videos and written instructions to help the novice do it all. However, it is important to consider the location you’ll be assembling the treadmill in advance. It will likely need to be in a room with lots of space and clear flooring, especially since it arrives in a box that is longer than the deck itself.

Additionally, it’s a good idea to have extra hex keys on hand and some additional tools. A great resource is BILT, which offers step-by-step 3D interactive instructions. With this app, you can interact with the video by pinching and zooming to better understand the process of putting your machine together. In addition to the 3D interactive instructions, BILT also has detailed audio and written guidance for those who prefer a more traditional approach to learning.
